I have just read a report on news24 that the City of Cape Town is closing two roads in the Cape Town CBD for repairs and upgrading. Whilst they have let the effected areas know through a pamphlet drop the news may not have filtered down so readily to the inhabitants of the Cape Point Peninsula.

If you do travel to town a lot, or are even planning a trip in the next few days or weeks then please take note of the following:

Hans Strijdom Avenue – between Long Street and the Fountain Circle, Long Street intersection – will be closed between 20:00 and 05:00 from Monday to Wednesday, in order to allow for the construction of Myciti bus lanes.

Intersection of Sandown Road and the R27 in the Bloubergstrand area will be closed for the whole week to allow for the installation water and stormwater pipe.

If you are driving in or through the areas then please plan accordingly.
